DEVCOM has conducted research on referral mechanisms available to labour migrants returning to Bangladesh for CAFOD under a project which has been implemented by OKUP and Caritas Bangladesh in 8 districts and 25 upazilas, targeting both men and women migrants, with emphasis on returnee female migrants. The research aims to seek considerable gaps in the existing referral mechanisms and a way forward to improve the system in Bangladesh. DEVCOM carried out an intensive qualitative study of the existing literature and interviewed the returnee migrants, who received support from CAFOD’s project, as well as the key stakeholders and service providers. The recommendation accrued from the research was further used as a guideline in national level workshops to make the referral mechanism stronger in Bangladesh.
