Baseline Study for The SIMS Project
DEVCOM has conducted the baseline study of a project titled “Strengthened and Informative Migration System” (SIMS) for Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, which has been implemented by OKUP, RMMRU and Prottyashi in 3 districts and 23 sub-districts, targeting mainly potential migrant workers and left-behind family members of current migrants. As a part of the assignment, DEVCOM has analyzed and reviewed the existing documents related to the project, designed a baseline study, developed and finalized data collection tools as well as provided enumerators training to the PNGO staffs, rolled out data collection, monitored the data collection phase, analyzed data, submitted the final report, attended the debriefing session on the findings, and finally submitted a policy brief. The study has brought together the findings and insights linked to gender and social equity dimensions for migrant workers and their families, along with the implications of COVID-19 on this population.
