DEVCOM is conducting a study on “Existing referral mechanisms available to migrant workers on return to Bangladesh”. CAFOD UK has assigned DEVCOM to conduct the study. CAFOD has been providing support to their partner NGOs (CARITAS Bangladesh and OKUP) in Bangladesh on reintegration of returnee migrants and has observed that referral mechanism is not very effective in the country, and therefore decided to conduct a qualitative assessment. Based on the findings of the assessment, DEVCOM will make necessary recommendations and organize a reflection meeting with the partner NGOs and CAFOD. A policy brief will be prepared based on the findings that will be used by CAFOD’s partner NGOs in Bangladesh to conduct evidence-based advocacy for the returnee migrants.
