Project: Migration Program Planning or ‘Women and Girls Empowerment Project’
Partner: CARE Bangladesh
Services: Stakeholder Analysis, Program Development
Duration: November 2019 to January 2020
CARE Bangladesh’s Women and Girls Empowerment Project developed a Project Proposal for Promoting Safe and Women Friendly Migration for the Women of Bangladesh. The project’s aim was to address responsible, safe and orderly migration – a target that has been recognized in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The project planned to contribute to ensure that Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Policy 2016 and the Overseas Employment and Migration Act 2013 are implemented effectively. These policies entail actions to ensure accurate pre-departure information and services for women at all stages of migration to reduce risks and vulnerabilities in migration- a commitment by the Global Compact for Migration. DEVCOM, assisted CARE Bangladesh to design and develop the project to submit to the donor agency, which was finally awarded.
