Client: CARE Bangladesh
Services: Needs Assessment, Training Module Development, Operational Module Development
Duration: November 2018 – January 2019
Despite notable achievements in public health over the last couple of decades, Bangladesh is still plagued by malnutrition. The government is committed to achieving Sustainable Development Goal of ending all forms of malnutrition by 2030. In alignment to the activities currently being implemented under National Nutrition Policy 2015, NPAN, Seventh Five Year Plan, Vision 2021, SDG targets, CARE Bangladesh launched a 3-year project titled Collective Impact for Nutrition (CI4N) which aims to address malnutrition interventions, and under the project, CARE Bangladesh assisted Bangladesh National Nutrition Council (BNNC). Under the BNNC, the project seeks to capacitate District Nutrition Coordination Committee (DNCC) and Upazila Nutrition Coordination Committee (UNCC) to implement the NPAN 2.
In order to carry out the CI4N project, it was first essential to capacitate the national resource teams to roll out a multi-sectoral nutrition coordination platform. Under the project, CARE Bangladesh and DEVCOM assisted the BNNC to conduct a Training Needs Assessment, develop Operational Manual and a Training Manual. Following the development of the Manuals, CARE Bangladesh and DEVCOM will also assist BNNC with conducting a Training of Trainers (ToT) for members of DNCC and UNCC.
