Project: Curriculum Development for IMAGINE Project
Client: CARE Bangladesh
Services: Adaptation and Module Development
Duration: September 2018 – October 2018
Adolescents in Bangladesh often enter their reproductive years poorly informed about protection from pregnancy and infection and their reproductive choices (IPPF, 2009). Considering the scenario, CARE Bangladesh has undertaken a program which aims to delay the timing of ‘first birth’ among married adolescents. The project is titled IMAGINE (Inspiring Married Adolescent Girls to Imagine New Empowered Futures). The project will take a comprehensive approach for married adolescent couples, especially girls to delay their first pregnancy and be able to envision alternative identities, future and pathways for achieving their aspirations. DEVCOM was engaged by CARE Bangladesh to contextualize two curriculums, Girls Collective Curriculum and Business Curriculum, developed under the project in terms of local contexts while especially taking into account practices, cultures and beliefs.
