International Labour Organization (ILO) country offices of Sri Lanka and Maldives have provided their technical support in developing the main information guide for safe labour migration in the year 2013, under the project named “Community-led Outreach on Safe Migration in Two Districts in Bangladesh”, which was implemented by IOM Bangladesh and supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. The Managing Director of DEVCOM, Hassan Imam, as a national consultant, has provided his assistance in adapting that information guide. As a part of the assignment, DEVCOM has also provided ToTs to the DEMO officials and community-based master trainers. The module has included information on pre-decision, pre-departure, arrival and in-service, return, and reintegration. DEVCOM team adapted this module of IOM in the context of Bangladesh through a participatory process and has provided a two-day ToT and another two-day follow-up training for the DEMO officials and volunteers as master trainers.
